Lit­tle Os­car moved to ac­tion by char­ity ad­ver­tise­ment

A SCHOOL­BOY walked from Mid­dle­ton to Manch­ester city cen­tre af­ter be­ing in­spired to sup­port a char­ity.

Os­car El­lis, 8, was so up­set when he saw a Unicef ad­vert about a nine-year-old girl be­ing forced into mar­riage, that he de­cided to do some­thing to help.

The St Pe­ter’s RC School pupil, from Alkring­ton, cre­ated a bucket list of things he wanted to do dur­ing the school sum­mer hol­i­days, which in­cluded do­ing a char­ity walk.

He did the walk on Au­gust 12 with his mum Poppy, dad Lee , his grand­mas Carol and Julie, un­cles Joe, Isaac and Sam, preg­nant aunt Sarah and his cousins Ella, age 11 Luca, five, and Delilah, three.

Os­car de­signed posters to at­tach to ev­ery­one’s T-shirts and has raised more than dou­ble his ini­tial tar­get of £100, with more do­na­tions still to come in.

Carol said: “We are all so proud of him as you can imag­ine.”
