Lot­tery boost for so­cial club team

RES­I­DENTS and visi­tors at the RBH Threlkeld Court So­cial Club re­ceived a boost to their fa­cil­i­ties and so­cial ac­tiv­i­ties thanks to a wel­comed grant of £9,058 from Na­tional Lot­tery Awards for All.

The res­i­dents held a spe­cial evening cel­e­bra­tion as they en­joyed their new com­mu­nal Lounge fur­ni­ture and en­joyed the en­ter­tain­ments.

As well as spruc­ing up the lounge the money will be used to fund sev­eral new ac­tiv­i­ties at their scheme in the com­ing months.

Group chair­man Tony Heaford said: “We would like to say thank you to the Lot­tery. The res­i­dents are over the moon with the new fur­ni­ture.

“It’s re­ally given peo­ple a lift, and it’s go­ing to al­low res­i­dents to take part in lots of dif­fer­ent ac­tiv­i­ties in the fu­ture.”

Helen Kel­sall, from the RBH Com­mu­nity Part­ner­ship Team who helped the group with their grant ap­pli­ca­tion, added: “I’m re­ally pleased the group were suc­cess­ful. Some- thing like this can make a big dif­fer­ence in peo­ple’s lives.”

Na­tional Lot­tery Awards for All of­fers fund­ing from £300 to £10,000 to sup­port projects and ac­tiv­i­ties for peo­ple and com­mu­ni­ties.
