Students award college top mark
HOPWOOD Hall College has the highest level of student satisfaction in Greater Manchester, according to a new survey.
More than 300,000 final-year students took part in the Higher Education Funding Council for England’s survey, which revealed that 92 per cent of students at the college were satisfied with their experience there.
The college was the top of the rankings, scoring five per cent higher than the next college on the list, Bolton.
Students ranked their satisfaction based on the quality of their courses, standard of teaching and student engagement.
The results are used by higher education providers to improve students’ academic experience and will also provide evidence to inform students’ choices about where and what to study.
Hopwood Hall College’s assistant principal, Julia Heap, said: “I speak for everyone at the college when I say we’re very proud of the survey’s findings.
“Our students are the focal point of everything we do and to know that they’re leaving us with such a high level of satisfaction, that’s a really positive result.
“The task now has to be to continue improving our college experience to give that eight per cent a better time than they feel they had.
“With the investment we are putting into facil- ities at both campuses this year, including a new state of the art 4g AstroTurf at the Middleton campus, I’m confident we’ll be able to make significant inroads.”
