Escapologist pooch Paddy dies in latest bid for freedom
A DOG who became famous in his home town of Middleton thanks to many daring escape attempts has sadly died.
Ten-year-old Paddy, whose owner is Chris Nolan, made a run for it more than 100 times during his life.
Sadly, on Saturday evening, he died after being run over on his latest escape attempt.
Chris said: “Paddy was known all over the world, my friend went to New York recently and when he told someone he was from Manchester they asked him if he knew Paddy the Dog.
“Paddy will always be sadly missed.”
More than 300 people have taken to Facebook to expressed their sympathy, with messages coming from as far away as Australia, America and Spain.
Chris says a plaque is being organised to be put up in his favourite pub, the Old Boars
