Es­capol­o­gist pooch Paddy dies in lat­est bid for free­dom

A DOG who be­came fa­mous in his home town of Mid­dle­ton thanks to many dar­ing es­cape at­tempts has sadly died.

Ten-year-old Paddy, whose owner is Chris Nolan, made a run for it more than 100 times dur­ing his life.

Sadly, on Satur­day evening, he died af­ter be­ing run over on his lat­est es­cape at­tempt.

Chris said: “Paddy was known all over the world, my friend went to New York re­cently and when he told some­one he was from Manch­ester they asked him if he knew Paddy the Dog.

“Paddy will al­ways be sadly missed.”

More than 300 peo­ple have taken to Face­book to ex­pressed their sym­pa­thy, with mes­sages com­ing from as far away as Aus­tralia, Amer­ica and Spain.
