Young dance stars put town on map
MIDDLETON Rotary Club enjoyed a dance display by champion dancers Mia Holden and Andrei Toader.
The Dragons’ Den meetings are used for local community groups and local talent to make a bid for funding toward their cause, the funding coming from the net proceeds of the Christmas float collections.
Mia and Andrei are just 14 and compete very successfully in the under 16 groupings.
Last April they came fifth in the British Open World Championships in Blackpool, where they were the youngest couple to compete.
Mia and Andrei are hoping to attend the WDC World Championships in Paris in December, one of the most important competitions in the dance calendar.
They were at the club making a bid for funding towards travel costs to get to the event.
A club spokesman said: “Middleton Rotary Club have a great deal of confidence in this couple who are so dedicated to their dancing and are quite rightly very proud of their achievements to date.
“They are certainly doing their bit to help put Middleton firmly on the map.”
