Young dance stars put town on map

MID­DLE­TON Ro­tary Club en­joyed a dance dis­play by cham­pion dancers Mia Holden and An­drei Toader.

The Dragons’ Den meet­ings are used for lo­cal com­mu­nity groups and lo­cal tal­ent to make a bid for fund­ing to­ward their cause, the fund­ing com­ing from the net pro­ceeds of the Christ­mas float col­lec­tions.

Mia and An­drei are just 14 and com­pete very suc­cess­fully in the un­der 16 group­ings.

Last April they came fifth in the Bri­tish Open World Cham­pi­onships in Black­pool, where they were the youngest cou­ple to com­pete.

Mia and An­drei are hop­ing to at­tend the WDC World Cham­pi­onships in Paris in De­cem­ber, one of the most im­por­tant com­pe­ti­tions in the dance cal­en­dar.

They were at the club mak­ing a bid for fund­ing to­wards travel costs to get to the event.

A club spokesman said: “Mid­dle­ton Ro­tary Club have a great deal of con­fi­dence in this cou­ple who are so ded­i­cated to their danc­ing and are quite rightly very proud of their achieve­ments to date.

“They are cer­tainly do­ing their bit to help put Mid­dle­ton firmly on the map.”
