Brian Roberts,

Wisbech A FAKER who pretended to be a police officer to arrest a man in a city nightclub has been jailed for 16 months.

A court heard that it was tenth time that Steven Buchan had impersonated a cop having learnt technical jargon from TV shows, such as The Bill and Road Wars.

Buchan had called police in the early hours of June 7 claiming to be an off-duty officer who had detained a drunk and disorderly man in a Liverpool club, the court heard.

He claimed to be DC Simon Green, and also requested a caged vehicle.

Officers detained the drunk and Buchan went with them to a police station where inquiries confirmed he was lying.

The judge at Liverpool Crown Court said Buchan, 28, was “unbalanced”. I HIRED a campervan for the first time this weekend – and what awful timing!

I went up to see my aunty in Harrogate, which involves driving over the Pennines. Of course there was a gale blowing and I’d never driven a highsided vehicle before.

It was terrifying! A bit of wee almost came out, I was so scared!

So if you were stuck behind a campervan on the A59 last weekend, sorry, that was me!

A MAN told me I wouldn’t make it as a successful astronaut.

I told him to watch this space.
