Killer pile-up driver jailed

A RO­MA­NIAN lorry driver who crashed into a line of cars, killing a dad-ofthree, has been jailed.

Ionel Bordieanu, 43, smashed into queu­ing traf­fic on a junc­tion of the M25, killing 39-year-old Matthew Barker in­stantly.

Mr Barker’s Ford Fo­cus was thrown into a Land Rover in front of him, flip­ping it into the air.

Its 24-year-old fe­male driver was trapped un­der the 4x4 Free­lander and suf­fered ex­ten­sive in­juries to her arm.

Bordieanu’s ar­tic­u­lated lorry smashed into the back of the morn­ing rush-hour queue at the busy M25 junc­tion just north of Wat­ford, Herts, dam­ag­ing nine cars and caus­ing other in­juries on April 19.

Bordieanu was jailed for three years and four months and banned from driv­ing for five years at St Al­bans Crown Court.
