AN OUTDOOR topless book club that’s got New York jaws dropping is about to hit Britain – to urge our young lads to read more!

Literary experts have seized on the sexy Yank craze as a way of boosting boys’ interest in books.

The Outdoor Co-ed Topless Pulp Fiction Appreciation Society sees women gathering in New York’s public places to read books while topless. The group started in August after the city’s ruling that women can go topless anywhere a man can.

“We decided to read books at the same time to stop people bothering us – they tend to leave us alone if we’re nose-deep in a novel,” said founder member Louise Stott.

Brit education experts are now looking at ways to encourage similar gatherings.

One said last night: “Boys lag behind girls in literacy in the UK. If pretty topless women reading novels encourages them to pick up a book themselves, it can only be a good thing.”
