‘Road Wars’ rage attacker banned
A ROAD rage driver who was bumped from behind by another motorist jumped onto the other car’s bonnet and kicked the windscreen in — because he’d seen it done on TELEVISION.
Timothy Clifford, 30, chased his victim for 15 minutes after the terrified man drove off, fearing for the safety of his wife and four-year-old son who were passengers.
Clifford then cornered the car when he was stuck in traffic, before jumping on the bonnet and kicking the windscreen until it shattered.
Clifford, a recovery vehicle driver, told police he’d done it because he’d seen it on the TV show Road Wars, which follows traffic cops on their beat.
He admitted dangerous driving, common assault and criminal damage and was banned from driving for a year and ordered to carry out 150 hours unpaid work.
