Nurse tells of ‘Angel of Death’ hell
A NURSE wrongly accused of tampering with a saline solution causing the death of three pensioners has told of her “nightmare” ordeal.
Rebecca Leighton, 27, was branded an “angel of death” by the gutter press after the killings at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
Yesterday she spoke of her relief after all charges against her were dropped earlier this month.
But she complained that the media had totally demonised her and she was now afraid to go out despite her innocence.
She told ITV1’s This Morning: “I am living at my parents’, I am not living where I was living. I’m not working, I can’t go outside my house without people taking pictures of me.
“I can’t walk down the street on my own because I’m a bit scared. Someone has always got to be with me all the time. It’s far from normal.”
The police probe into the deaths at the hospital is continuing.
