Shower spy cam doc­tor es­capes jail

A TOP heart doc­tor has es­caped jail — de­spite be­ing ex­posed as a peep­ing Tom who filmed his fe­male medic pals in the bath­room.

Leeds Crown Court heard how car­di­ol­o­gist Dr Vivek Baliga, 33 ( in­vited a fe­male col­league and her part­ner to stay at his home on Dec 13, 2009.

In the bath­room, she found a video cam­era switched on — record­ing her tak­ing a shower.

Af­ter great con­sid­er­a­tion she re­ported him and po­lice ex­am­ined Baliga’s com­puter.

They dis­cov­ered more footage of the same wo­man show­er­ing at her home and an­other wo­man doc­tor us­ing the toi­let at her home — af­ter she’d in­vited Baliga to stay.

Baliga, of Leeds, West Yorks, has al­ready at­tended three Gen­eral Med­i­cal Coun­cil hear­ings and now faces be­ing struck off when he goes be­fore them again on Fri­day.

Un­til fur­ther no­tice he must not do any clin­i­cal work or have any con­tact with pa­tients.

Baliga pleaded guilty at a pre­vi­ous hear­ing to three counts of voyeurism in­volv­ing two women.

He was given a three-year com­mu­nity or­der and told to at­tend a sex of­fender treat­ment pro­gramme.
