Shower spy cam doctor escapes jail
A TOP heart doctor has escaped jail — despite being exposed as a peeping Tom who filmed his female medic pals in the bathroom.
Leeds Crown Court heard how cardiologist Dr Vivek Baliga, 33 ( invited a female colleague and her partner to stay at his home on Dec 13, 2009.
In the bathroom, she found a video camera switched on — recording her taking a shower.
After great consideration she reported him and police examined Baliga’s computer.
They discovered more footage of the same woman showering at her home and another woman doctor using the toilet at her home — after she’d invited Baliga to stay.
Baliga, of Leeds, West Yorks, has already attended three General Medical Council hearings and now faces being struck off when he goes before them again on Friday.
Until further notice he must not do any clinical work or have any contact with patients.
Baliga pleaded guilty at a previous hearing to three counts of voyeurism involving two women.
He was given a three-year community order and told to attend a sex offender treatment programme.
