AB VOWS TO BE FAB FOR HAMMERS
ABDOULAYE FAYE insists he can inspire West Ham to promotion after making his first start for the club.
The 33-year-old centreback played against Millwall at the weekend and wants to keep his place for the clash against Peterborough on Saturday.
Faye said: “I got my chance and I wanted to take it by helping the club to do well and to help us go up this season. I have confidence we can do that.”
The Hammers ended a run of six months without a home win when they beat Portsmouth in their last game at Upton Park.
“It’s very important to win the game next week at home,” said Faye.
“We didn’t win at home for six months, so we need to win two or three games on the spin and then everyone will have confidence for the future.
“I will be looking to start. We have had a little bit of trouble at home because we have not concentrated through every game.
“You can’t win every game two or three-nil. Sometimes you have to win one-nil and concentrate for the whole 90 minutes.
“But I have confidence we can do this.”
