LADY GAGA IN WIZARD OF OZ ROLE

Midweek Sport - - TV GUIDE -

POP weirdo Lady GaGa is set to make her film debut in a remake of the Wizard of Oz.

Hollywood insiders say Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann is secretly putting together a controversial modern version of the 1939 hit.

And they say the Poker Face singer ( below) is top of his list for the role of Wicked Witch of the West.

Also in line for top parts are Gary Oldman as The Tinman, Kylie Minogue as the Good Witch of the North and Steve Buscemi as the Cowardly Lion.

The movie mole said; “This is all very hush-hush but it looks like it could well be a goer.

“The original film was a parable of the 1930s depression so it makes perfect sense to recreate that for the modern depression we’re going through.

“I understand if Baz is on board, the first name he wants is Lady GaGa.

“She's such a performer in her stage act he reckons she’ll be a natural.”
