£300k jumbo cocaine haul
ENGINEERS dismantling an old jumbo jet at a Cotswolds airfield have discovered a stash of cocaine worth £300,000.
Three packages of the drug weighing a total of three kilos were concealed in the toilet compartment of the former Air France Boeing 747 at the Cotswold Airport in Kemble, Gloucs.
Police were called to the former Red Arrows airbase when workers from Air Salvage International made the discovery.
A spokesman said: “They were found when a panel was removed. The parcels were covered in black gaffer tape.”
Officers with sniffer dogs searched the rest of the aircraft but nothing else was found.
Detectives have approached the former operators of the aircraft for help in their investigation into where the cocaine might have come from and when it was put there.
