‘Dancing naked for Premiership footy stars paid my college fees’

CASH-STRAPPED students are turning to lap dancing and escorting to help fund their studies.

Estelle Hart, from the National Union of Students (NUS), this week claimed that girls were also getting into online gambling and becoming drugs guinea pigs to afford their crippling course fees.

She said: “In an economic climate where there are very few jobs, people are taking more work in the informal economy, such as sex work.”

Dr Brooke Magnanti, aka Belle De Jour, the former escort whose blog inspired the hit TV series starring Billie Piper, turned to escorting to pay for her PHD.

Brooke said: “You could work behind a bar, but how many hours would you have to do to pay the rent?”

And a recent survey of 200 lap dancers by Leeds University found that one in three was stripping to pay for their education. Here Pyschology student and Sport model Holly Henderson tells her story.
