QUIGG MISSES REN RUMBLE
SCOTT QUIGG admits he was “gutted” when domestic rival Rendall Munroe dropped down to bantamweight.
British super-bantamweight champion Quigg makes the first defence of his title against W elshman Jamie Arthur at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on February 4.
Bury’s Quigg hoped that Munroe would be in the opposite corner, but his Hatton Promotions stablemate has switched weight divisions, ending hopes of a fascinating battle.
Quigg said: “I was gutted when Rendall moved down from super-bantamweight. He had held the European
title, challenged for the WBC belt and fought the very best. “I felt I couldn’t call myself Britain’s No.1 until I beat him. At least I can now rightfully claim to be No.1
having taken the British title from Jason Booth.”
