Missing chef’s family in Xmas wreath horror
THE dad of missing chef Claudia Lawrence has urged a mystery well-wisher to stop adding to the family’s misery at Christmas.
An anonymous wreath appeared on the Lawrence family door for the third consecutive year on Xmas Day.
Each Christmas since Claudia’s mystery disappearance in 2009, an elaborate hand-made wreath has been left.
Martin Dales, family friend and spokesperson for Claudia’s father, Peter Lawrence, said: “It is appreciated what the sentiment may be behind the wreath, but Peter doesn’t find it very helpful.
“The significance of a wreath makes it very difficult for the family and he would like whoever is doing it to stop.”
Claudia, who was born in Darlington and brought up in Malton, was 35 when she went missing from her York home in March 2009.
She worked as a chef at York University and no trace of her has ever been found.
