Burrell’s dirty caller planned to bomb shop

Midweek Sport - - SPORT -

A MAN made threatening phone calls to ex-royal butler Paul Burrell and also rang him while having a W*NK, a court was told.

Slav Mitev claimed to have kidnapped Burrell’s wife Maria and said he was going to bomb the late aide to Princess Diana’s flower shop in Cheshire.

Mr Burrell ( above) told Chester Crown Court: “I was sick to my stomach. I put the phone down and rang my wife in America.”

Mr Burrell, 53, was giving evidence in the trial of Mitev, 50, who is charged with harassment and causing a victim to be put in fear of violence.

The court heard about other calls made to the flower shop in which the caller said he was masturbating.

A judge has ruled that Mitev, of Wood Green, London, was not fit to enter a plea to the charges due to his mental state.

The case continues.
