Hate, not Love, in the Wild
TV presenter Darren Mcmullen was threatened by a machine gun wielding Costa Rican drug lord when filming for ITV2’S new dating show Love in the Wild.
The 29-year-old revealed how the native thug picked a fight with him deep in the Costa Rican jungle.
He said: “I was in a bar with some of the crew when this big bloke came up to me and asked me to go outside. I ignored him and he disappeared.
“A few hours later, I was out on the veranda when he started yelling at me. As I walked towards him, several goons jumped out from behind the cars.
“I wanted to stand my ground but one of our camera guys saw him reaching for a weapon and carried me away.
“Not only did the guy have a machine gun, he also had a machete and a hand gun. I later discovered he was a local drugs lord. I think I had a narrow escape.”
Darren presents the show, which brings 10 couples together in the jungle with hopes of finding love, on Wednesdays at 9pm on ITV2.
