Ar­rest af­ter dou­ble pond death probe

A 54-year-old man has been ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of mur­der af­ter the bod­ies of a teenager and a man were dis­cov­ered in a pond in Can­ter­bury.

The first body was found in Reed Pond at mid­day on Mon­day.

The sec­ond was re­cov­ered by po­lice divers later that night, ac­cord­ing to Kent Po­lice.

One of the bod­ies is be­lieved to be that of miss­ing school­boy Hugo Wenn, 17.

The other is of a man in his 20s.

Po­lice search and foren­sic teams re­main at the scene and of­fi­cers from the Kent and Es­sex Se­ri­ous Crime Direc­torate Ma­jor Crime team have set up an in­ci­dent room.

The deaths are cur­rently be­ing treated as un­ex­plained pend­ing post mortems – which are due to take place in the next 24 hours.
