TV HIGHS & LOWS WEDNESDAY HIGH
COPPERS in Nottingham have found a novel way to crack down on the rise in burglaries – by putting cameras in high risk homes.
According to new statistics, a house in Britain is done over every two minutes – and Nottingham has had the highest rate for years now.
In theory, it’s a pretty foolproof way to catch and convict criminals – even Britain’s biggest morons would find it hard to protest their innocence when they’ve been caught redhanded on candid camera.
But some questions have been raised about the ethical issue of the police acting Big Brother in our homes and whether they should be allowed to set traps for burglars. Sod that! I’d be more concerned about a bunch of Bobbies sat down the nick watching me get my leg over or plod around in my pants.
To save my blushes I’d rather leave the flat screen TV on my doorstep!
