Woman tries to curl one off in bank

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

A BUNGLING bandit tried to rob a bank with a CURLING iron.

Sonia Watson ( above), 41, and her son walked into the bank with cloths over their faces, but pulled them down when they realized there were customers inside.

After the customers left, the halfwit pair pulled their cloths over their faces again and announced the hold-up, as Watson brandished the curling iron.

Once workers spotted what the ‘weapon’ was they refused to hand over the cash and fought back with plastic bottles and chairs.

However, Watson and her son were able to get to a cash drawer before taking off with around £200.

The crooks were later easily identified as Watson had been in the same bank in Toledo, Ohio, recently to have her tax forms checked.

The pair are still on the run.

A spokesman for the local police said: “These two rate about as high as you can get on the chart for criminal stupidy.”
