Quiz champ Chases 9th telly show

PUB quiz champion Brian Edwards ( above) is swotting up for his latest challenge – appearing on his NINTH TV quiz show.

Retired teacher Brian, 65, has been on Mastermind, Sale of the Century, Winner Takes All, 15 to 1, Connections, Quiz Night, Egg Heads and Perfection and now he’s getting ready for a stint on ITV’S The Chase.

He said: “I did Sale of the Century 30 years ago and got the bug from there.

“I’ve always been good at general knowledge, so if a show is looking for contestants I bang in an application.”

Brian, of Wrexham, North Wales, practises his trivia skills at his local boozer The Plough, in Gresford, where he is the pub quiz star.

His TV appearances have won him a haul of prizes including a two week family holiday to Israel and £4,000 cash.

But he says his big regret is never appearing on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

He said: “I must have rung 50 times. I think if I’d had a chance I would have won a lot.”
