Nick blames Eastenders for our ills

-

COUNTDOWN host Nick Hewer reckons Eastenders is to blame for all our modern ills.

The 67-year-old ( above), who made his name as Lord Sugar’s assistant on the BBC show The Apprentice, said the violence and aggression in the soap has made yob culture the norm.

Speaking before his appearance on the new series of Room 101, a show where celebrities debate what they’d get rid of in today’s society, he said: “One of the things I have picked is Eastenders – which everybody loves, so I won’t be winning any popularity contests.

“I don’t hate Eastenders in its entirety. What I hate is the aggression and violence on the show, which I think has seeped into the national psyche.

“Everybody now thinks that it’s normal to be verbally aggressive and to be physically threatening.”

Nick also appears on the hit BBC talent finding programme with the business mogul, which is also known for its fiery arguments and heated debates.
