Crook shows cop stolen TV
A CROOK was arrested after he showed a cop a photo of a STOLEN TV on his mobile phone.
Kirk Holt had been pulled over by police in his hometown of Margate, Kent, and was quizzed about where he had got his mobile phone.
The 21-year-old – who is known to officers – said he would prove the phone was his by flicking through family photos, Margate JPS heard last week.
One of the photos showed a TV that had been stolen from Aldi just hours earlier on September 15 last year.
The court heard how Holt had pinched the 19-inch TV during a shoplifting spree in which he also stole booze and aftershave.
Holt admitted two charges of theft and was jailed for 15 months, suspended for 18 months, given a three-month curfew and tagged.
