TV found in field lad is remanded
A TEEN claimed he found a stolen 42 inch TV in a field and took it home.
Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Youth Court heard how the telly, worth £400, was snatched from Sara Hall’s home in Crook, Co. Durham, when it was burgled on Jan 12.
The 15-year-old youth, from Crook, said he was walking through a field towards his house when he found it.
He was caught with the set at his home and arrested by police the next day.
The Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence to three earlier charges put to the youth of burglary, theft of a car and arson.
He had pleaded not guilty to the three offences but pleaded guilty to a charge of handling stolen goods.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report and the lad was remanded in custody, to appear before magistrates on March 5.
