Con cooks up free food ruse

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

A TRICKSTER strolled into a restaurant and cooked himself a meal – after claiming he was the new general manager.

Hungry James Summers used the elaborate ruse to get free grub from the Denny’s fast-food chain.

As the 52-year-old – who was carrying a brief case and wearing a coat and tie – sat and ate the cheeseburger and fries the real general manager confronted him after ringing the firm’s HQ.

Police were called and he was hauled off, not least for having an unlicensed stun gun and several crack pipes in his pockets.

Summers, from Madison, Wisconsin, where the diner was located, was charged with fraudulently impersonating a restaurant keeper, disorderly conduct, drug possession and possessing an electric weapon.
