Kit Kat is now best bar none
CHOCOLATE addicts are paying almost FOUR TIMES the price for chunky peanut butter Kit Kat bars after shops ran dry.
The sweet treat won a recent poll against three other flavours to be put into production forever, but makers Nestle say the new bars won’t be rolling off the production line until April.
Four bars – peanut butter, white chocolate, orange, and double choc – have been on sale since January 23, but newsagents and supermarkets quickly ran out of the peanut butter bars because they were so popular.
Nestle launched a public vote on which bar to keep producing and announced that the peanut butter bar had trounced the rest, gaining 47 per cent of the total vote.
Now fans are so desperate for a ‘fix’ they are paying more than £2 for a bar, rather than the normal 60p.
Sellers on ebay who stocked up on the bars are now coining it in, selling boxes of 24 peanut butter Kit Kats for £50.99 – £2.12 each.
