Beach find goes down a bomb!
A MAN sparked an alert when he strolled into his local police station with an unexploded WW2 bomb.
Officers had to cordon off a large area and evacuate residents after 29-year-old Shannon Rickard brought in his find.
He thought he had found a collector’s item on a local beach but then learned it could be a bomb after looking it up on Google.
He admitted: “It was on my lap when I found stuff that matched it on Google.
“I thought ‘I’d better not put this down’. My arms were aching, it probably wasn’t the best thing to do but I knew I couldn’t keep hold of it.”
Bomb disposal teams dealt with the device in Bridgwater, Somerset.
