THE Yank crime series CSI has hurled the unsung heroes of the police forensic world into the limelight – making stars of the backroom boys and girls who dust for dabs and collect stray hairs.

The hugely-popular show, starring the likes of David Caruso and Gary Sinise, is set in glamorous locations such as Las Vegas, Miami and the Big Apple.

But Britain has its own CSI teams and they need a place to learn their craft... so welcome to CSI BOURNEMOUTH!

The sleepy Dorset town’s university has converted a detached house into a state-of-the-art Crime Scene Training Centre.

Rooms in the house-of-horrors have been turned into sets of lifelike crime scenes, including the aftermath of a murder, a rape, a drugs den and even a bank robbery.

Among the props used for the sets are dummy bodies, and for fans of gore, there’s claret EVERYWHERE!

One scene features the body of young man covered in fake blood and with a knife protruding out of his chest lying in a bedroom that’s been trashed, supposedly after a burglary gone wrong.

WON’T GET FOOLED: Crime students don suits like CSI stars to probe for evidence
