Murdered mum had Facebook account hacked
A MUM was knifed to death an hour after her Facebook account was hacked into and changed to claim she was “sleeping around”.
The serving soldier ex-boyfriend of murdered Leanne Mcnuff, 24, is being quizzed by detectives
Squaddie Ian Lowe, 24, a private with the Duke of Lancaster Regiment 1st Battalion, is currently on home leave from Afghanistan.
Last week one of his comrades Sgt Nigel Coupe, 33, was killed along with five other soldiers when a Taliban roadside bomb destroyed their Warrior armoured vehicle in Helmand Province.
Friends said former call centre worker Leanne, from Droylsden, Greater Manchester, split up with Lowe (above) seven weeks ago.
Her best friend Emma Barlow, 26, who spoke to her on the phone less than an hour before she died, said: “She thought someone had hacked into her Facebook account and changed her password.”
Det Insp Graham Brock from Greater Manchester Police said: “We are in the early stages of the investigation and are working to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.”
