Mur­dered mum had Face­book ac­count hacked

A MUM was knifed to death an hour af­ter her Face­book ac­count was hacked into and changed to claim she was “sleep­ing around”.

The serv­ing sol­dier ex-boyfriend of mur­dered Leanne Mc­nuff, 24, is be­ing quizzed by de­tec­tives

Squad­die Ian Lowe, 24, a pri­vate with the Duke of Lan­caster Reg­i­ment 1st Bat­tal­ion, is cur­rently on home leave from Afghanistan.

Last week one of his com­rades Sgt Nigel Coupe, 33, was killed along with five other sol­diers when a Tal­iban road­side bomb de­stroyed their War­rior ar­moured ve­hi­cle in Hel­mand Prov­ince.

Friends said for­mer call cen­tre worker Leanne, from Droyls­den, Greater Manch­ester, split up with Lowe (above) seven weeks ago.

Her best friend Emma Bar­low, 26, who spoke to her on the phone less than an hour be­fore she died, said: “She thought some­one had hacked into her Face­book ac­count and changed her pass­word.”

Det Insp Gra­ham Brock from Greater Manch­ester Po­lice said: “We are in the early stages of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion and are work­ing to es­tab­lish the full cir­cum­stances of what has hap­pened.”
