TRADE in Adolf Hitler memorabilia is booming, according to stunned auction bosses.

Sales of artefacts associated with the evil Nazi leader are at their highest level in years.

Only last week a silver tray given to Hitler on his 50th birthday sold for £28,000 – even though it was listed at just £600!

Malcolm Claridge, an expert in military objects for top auctioneers Dreweatts, admitted: “The trade is booming.

“There’s always interest in the big names – it used to be Wellington and Napoleon, now it’s Hitler.

“But I had no idea it was going to go mad like it has.”

In Britain there is no legislation banning the trade in Nazi memorabilia – but in France, Germany, Austria and Hungary it is outlawed.
