Jubilee will go with a bang-er
PATRIOTIC butcher Arthur Howell is celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year – by selling sausages in the colour of the Union flag.
He is making the red, white and blue bangers by using food colouring to dye the rusk in the meat mixture and the skin on the outside, and they go on sale at his Norfolk shops this week.
The white sausages are made from a blend of pork and chicken, while the red and blue ones are made from his Wells pork sausage secret recipe, which he has used for 20 years.
Mr Howell, 55, whose family have been Norfolk butchers since 1889, said: “We thought hard about the best way we could show our loyalty to Queen and country and came up with coloured sausages.”
