Ju­bilee will go with a bang-er

PA­TRI­OTIC butcher Arthur How­ell is cel­e­brat­ing the Queen’s Di­a­mond Ju­bilee year – by sell­ing sausages in the colour of the Union flag.

He is mak­ing the red, white and blue bangers by us­ing food colour­ing to dye the rusk in the meat mix­ture and the skin on the out­side, and they go on sale at his Nor­folk shops this week.

The white sausages are made from a blend of pork and chicken, while the red and blue ones are made from his Wells pork sausage se­cret recipe, which he has used for 20 years.

Mr How­ell, 55, whose fam­ily have been Nor­folk butch­ers since 1889, said: “We thought hard about the best way we could show our loy­alty to Queen and coun­try and came up with coloured sausages.”
