Clothes firm ads too rude for watchdog
SAUCY adverts for a trendy clothes firm have been banned for being too rude.
American Apparel used naked women to try to flog their outfits in a series of promos, but they’ve been branded ‘pornographic’ by a watchdog.
The Advertising Standards Authority launched an probe after complaints about the ads on the firm’s website and in a free lifestyle magazine available from shops.
One showed a woman wearing lace knickers and baring her breasts, while another showed two girls bare-bummed.
American Apparel said the approach was not graphic, explicit or pornographic but was designed to show a range of different images of people that were natural, not posed.
But the ASA found eight of the nine images subject of complaints were in breach of rules regarding “responsible advertising”, plus a cause of “harm and offence”. BRITAIN’S fattest fella Barry Austin is getting married – thanks to a boost from a babe.

“But after Charlotte visited him, Barry decided he wanted to look good, and after a lot of hard work it’s worked.”

Brummie babe Charlotte, who has cracking 34C curves and visited Barry in 2004, was thrilled to hear Barry had finally popped the question and had his proposal accepted.
She said: “Barry’s a great guy. I’m glad I helped. I hope they are both very happy!”
Barry used to scoff a humongous 29,000 calories per day, drink 40 pints of lager at the weekend, and once ate NINE curries in one sitting.
But after going on a strict 1,500 calorie-a-day diet and exercising he’s now half the man he was.
He said: “I think I’ve done well but now we’re getting married I want to lose even more to look as good as I can on wedding photos.”
And Debbie, also 43, said that if he loses more weight Barry can get his leg over!
She said: “He’s told me he wants to consummate the marriage on our wedding night, so that’s another incentive for him to lose weight.”
