Sickos steal ambulance
JOYRIDERS nicked an AMBULANCE while paramedics tended to an assault victim.
Yobs took the vehicle in the early hours while it was parked outside a house in Hartlepool, County Durham.
After a search which included the Cleveland Police helicopter, it was found 20 minutes later.
The vehicle had been abandoned with its lights flashing and all its equipment intact in a nearby road.
Police said although the victim only needed treatment at the scene, it took an emergency vehicle out of service and endangered lives.
Acting Insp Gary Cowan said: “The lowest of crimes has left an ambulance off the road. It could have left people in a dangerous situation with no emergency service to attend.”
