Pam claims fame makes you bonkers

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Pamela Stephenson says fame makes you MAD.

Pamela is a qualified psychologist and her studies have led her to the conclusion that being famous sends you bonkers.

The 62-year-old New Zealander ( above), who is married to comedian Billy Connolly, says she can’t understand why everyone wants to be famous and reckons fame should come with a health warning.

While researching telly documentary The Fame Report, which aired on More 4 last night, Pamela says she discovered the negative side to fame.

She said: “The received wisdom is that fame will bring you all the money, attention, sex and love you ever wanted. It will correct all wrongs and you’ll never want for anything ever again.

“But the reality, I now believe, is that fame is a trauma. Once celebrity is achieved, however briefly, things will never be the same again.

“There ought to be a warning on the label.”
