Spend tenner, whine experts

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

BOOZE-LOVING Brits should be spending at least a TENNER on a bottle of wine, according to snobby experts.

While supermarkets are crammed with cut-price wines, experts say your average £5 tipple is ‘incredibly dull, bland, and blended for the mass market’.

And if you really want something to tickle the tastebuds you have to shell out £10.

Graham Mitchell, owner of London’s prestigious El Vino wine bar and creator of website Thewineexplorer.co.uk, claims: “These £5 concoctions all taste the same.

“A considerable amount of wine imported into the UK is incredibly dull.

“Although a more expensive wine is only three times the price it is eight times the quality.”
