Dead patient dentist guilty of NHS fraud

A FEMALE dentist who funded a lavish globetrotting lifestyle by swindling £1.4 million from her own practice has been found guilty of one of the biggest ever NHS frauds.

Joyce Trail, 50, ( above) submitted more than 7,000 dodgy invoices for denture work that was never carried out at her practice in Handsworth, Birmingham.

Trail, from Sutton Coldfield, West Mids, used the money for Caribbean holidays and designer shopping at Prada and Jimmy Choo.

Birmingham Crown Court heard over one hundred of the false claims related to several elderly people who were actually DEAD.

Trial was found guilty of one charge of conspiracy to defraud the NHS between April 2006 and March 2009.

Her daughter, Nyri Stirling, 33, from Oldbury, West Mids, was also found guilty of the same charge and will be sentenced alongside her mother in September.

Trail’s sister, Fiona Trail, 46, was cleared of any wrongdoing.
