Drag-loving cage fighter hit bouncers
A VIGILANTE cage fighter notorious for dressing in drag on nights out was arrested for a spate of nightclub attacks.
Daniel ‘Lionheart’ Lerwell ( above), 25, hit the headlines when he and a cagefighter pal were on a night out dressed as drag queens – and tackled drunken yobs, flooring a pair of troublemakers while wearing fishnets in an incident caught on CCTV.
But Lerwell found himself in the dock after admitting to a spree of assaults.
Swansea Crown Court heard Lerwell was in a nightclub in the city centre with four friends when he knocked out a bouncer who’d asked them to calm down. At another club he repeatedly punched a bouncer, too.
Judge Keith Thomas described the attacks as “disgraceful and mindless thuggery”.
Lerwell was given a 51-week suspended sentence for ABH, GBH and assault, must do 250 hours of unpaid work and pay £1,000 in compensation.
