Caged for a blind rage

A WOMAN who blinded her sister’s boyfriend by stabbing him in the EYE has been sent to jail.

Crazed Julia Harper, 20, leapt on the man’s back before puncturing his right eye during a drunken argument last December.

Christopher Lowe, prosecuting, told Nottingham Crown Court: “The defendant attacked him from behind, striking him in the right eye with a sharpened implement.

“She struck with such force it pierced the eye.

“He’s had to give up his employment and he cannot see his own children’s faces.”

Harper, from Nottingham, pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful wounding.

Sentencing her to three years, Judge Andrew Hamilton told her: “You’ve completely ruined his life.

“It’s a most appalling injury to inflict on anyone.”
