Berb move is Hampered
WEST HAM have been forced to shelve their plans to land Dimitar Berbatov as well as Andy Carroll.
Sam Allardyce was hoping sealing a loan deal for Liverpool’s Carroll might persuade Manchester United spare part Berbatov to come to Upton Park as well.
Queens Park Rangers are also keen to lure the Bulgaria hit-man to London.
But they are in a similar position to the Hammers, big plans to establish themselves as a top-10 Premier League outfit but so far no track record.
Carroll won’t go to a club that isn’t at least a contender for a Champions League place and Berbatov is understood to think the same way.
Newcastle – the club that sold him for £35million – are willing to take Carroll back but that deal went cold.
Aston Villa defender James Collins, a former Hammer, remains a more realistic target for Allardyce.
