Get Britain working!

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

SOME newspapers are all too ready to run down their fellow Britons.

The jobless are branded “workshy” while well-fed commentators in their London ivory towers pronounce that millions of “scroungers” are “happy” to live on “lavish” benefits.

Here at Midweek Sport, we know that is BOLLOCKS!

Of course, there are idlers in the vein of Jim Royle off The Royle Family or Frank Gallagher from Shameless.

But we know – and every sensible person in the country knows – that the vast majority of unemployed people are DESPERATE for work.

Husbands and fathers would like nothing better than to provide for their wives and families.

But if the jobs are not there, what can these men do?

When Land Rover – a huge British success story – decided to move their Merseyside plant to 24-hour operation, more than 30,000 people applied for the 1,000 jobs on offer.

That is NOT a lazy workforce. It is a workforce that WANTS to work.

The time has now come for the government to everything in its power to stimulate the economy and get people into work.

Every person on the dole is a waste of the country’s human resources. Every family with a jobless head is not reaching its full potential.

Cameron and Osborne – rich boys with little knowledge of the real world – should think again about their economic direction.

This is no time for political dogma.

It’s time to get Britain working.
