Farmers’ fury at Queen’s badger

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

ROCK star Brian May has been savaged for “hijacking” the Olympics closing ceremony to highlight his opposition to badger culling.

The Queen guitarist, 65, performed inside the Olympic Stadium in front of an estimated television audience of 26 million.

But the animal welfaresupporting musician was criticised for wearing a coat with a badger emblem on one arm and a fox head on the other during the hit

Countryside Alliance spokeswoman Jill Grieve said: “Many would surely have missed his point, but to the farmers struggling against bovine TB and fox predation, a millionaire rock star undermining their way of life really stuck in the craw.”
