Teen stabbed to death after cops ignored plea for help
A SPURNED teenager stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death with a kitchen knife just hours after she had begged police for help, a court heard.
Thomas Dalton, 19, is accused of waiting for pretty Samantha Laney, also 19, for 45 minutes outside her home before launching a vicious attack on her and her father.
She bled to death after a single stab wound to the back punctured her lung and severed an artery.
Dalton is also accused of stabbing Samantha’s father Steven inside the family’s home in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs, on February 21.
Stafford Crown Court heard just hours before her death, Samantha rang the cops and asked them to help after she receiving threats from Dalton that he was going to “slice her open” after she ended their relationship in January.
But officers refused to provide a police escort to accompany her to Dalton’s home to collect her belongings, saying they were too busy.
The court heard that shortly after the killing, Dalton updated his Facebook profile, saying: “Some things got to be done in life.”
Dalton denies murder and attempted murder.
The trial continues.
