Pards holds cards for Anita move
ALAN PARDEW holds the key to pushing through Newcastle’s £6million move for Vurnon Anita.
Toon have agreed a fee with Ajax for the 23-yearold utility man, who is due on Tyneside to discuss personal terms.
The five-year deal is worth up to £10m after he snubbed a lucrative new contract offer from the Dutch giants.
Vurnon is keen to play in a central midfield role, and wants talks with the Toon boss before signing.
Vurnon’s father said: “The clubs are agreed on a fee, but we’re not sure yet about the move.
“He wants to know what his plans are. Does he want Vurnon for rightback, or for left-back? Or in midfield?
“These are important questions for Vurnon. He needs answers to these questions.”
