Clarke gains West Brom a Jonas bonus
WEST BROM chief Steve Clarke has hinted that key defender Jonas Olsson will remain at the Hawthorns this season.
With just one year left on his Baggies contract, speculation has been rife that the Swede, 29, will quit the club early.
But Clarke insisted: “There has been no indication that Jonas is going to leave us.
“Over the summer he’s worked well and played with 100 per cent commitment.
“He’s got a year left on his contract, so as far as we’re concerned Jonas will stay with us.”
Clarke has been busy in the transfer market after signing keeper Ben Foster and four other players.
Clarke added: “It’s important to get the basis of your squad in place.
“We’ve tried to do our business early.”
