CHARLES N’ZOGBIA admits he needs to score more often if he is to have a Villa thriller.

The Frenchman, 26, flopped last term, netting just twice.

But Paul Lambert played him in an attacking position in the defeat at West Ham.

And N’Zogbia knows there’s more to come from him.

He said: “I definitely need to be getting a few more goals and a few more assists.

“That would be good and it would be good to be happy while playing for Villa.

“The thing I’ve got in my mind is just to play my best, to show my skills.

“I’ve played in the hole before when I was at Newcastle and Wigan so for me it is nothing new.

“If Paul asks me to play in this position I will, because I know what to do and what not to do.

“If I am playing in another position I am happy to play there too.

“For me it’s just about being on the pitch, doing my best.”

Villa play Everton in their first home game on Saturday and N’Zogbia has demanded his side improve on a record of just four league wins at home last season.

He added: “At Villa Park we have to have a winning mentality.

“We have to make sure that when teams come to Villa Park, it’s a hard place to win.”
