Murray: I’m ‘that Scottish w*nker’

TENNIS champ Andy Murray says he knows tennis fans call him “that Scottish w*nker”.

Embarrassed Andy says he regrets joking in a 2006 interview that he’d “support whoever England were playing” at the World Cup.

And Andy – who recently won his first grand slam title at the US Masters in New York – says his words continue to haunt him.

The 25-year-old said: “I was only 19 or 20 at the time. I was getting things sent to my locker saying things like, ‘I hope you lose every tennis match for the rest of your life’.

“And even people within the ground at Wimbledon were saying that to me.

“I overheard fans on the telephone describing me as ‘that Scottish w*nker’. “It’s not nice. “I had to reconnect with the British public.”
