‘Bum grope’ ra­dio­g­ra­pher claims vic­tim touched willy

A RA­DIO­G­RA­PHER ac­cused of grop­ing a col­league threat­ened to make a counter claim of sex­ual harass­ment when she com­plained, a hear­ing was told.

Ahmed Omar is said to have re­peat­edly touched the woman’s bot­tom at Ne­wham Univer­sity Hospi­tal in east Lon­don and joked that she should be­come his “sec­ond wife”.

When the woman, re­ferred to only as S1, threat­ened to re­port him, he said he would tell bosses that she “touched his willy”.

Giv­ing ev­i­dence from be­hind screens at the Health and Care Pro­fes­sions Coun­cil, she said: “He just grabbed my arse, and I went bal­lis­tic.

“I kicked him, and said ‘what the f*** are you do­ing?’”

Ju­lia Mather­son, for the HCPC, told the hear­ing how Omar would pass and touch her bot­tom then say, “Oh sorry,” as if he had brushed her by mis­take.

When she asked him to stop do­ing it he would gig­gle and walk off.

He would also make com­ments, such as he was look­ing for a sec­ond wife.

Omar, who de­nies all the al­le­ga­tions against him, faces be­ing struck off if found guilty.
