Missing teen and teacher strolling hand-in-hand on cross-channel ferry
FUGITIVE maths teacher Jeremy Forrest has been pictured holding hands with missing 15-year-old student Megan Stammers on a ferry bound for France.
Two images – taken on board a Dover to Calais ferry on September 21 – emerged last night, as it was also revealed that married Forrest may have been involved with Megan for at least SEVEN MONTHS.
A pal of the schoolgirl said the pair were spotted openly holding hands on the way back from a school trip in February.
The friend said concerns were told to another teacher about their relationship, following the five-day trip to Los Angeles. The friend, from Bishop Bell C of E School in Eastbourne, East Sussex, said a classmate had raised the issue after seeing the pair holding hands on the flight home.
The 15-year-old said: “I kind of knew it was going to happen because of the way they were with each other, and my friends were talking about it when they were on the LA trip.
“It was obvious it was gonna happen. They were always together.”
An East Sussex County Council spokesman admitted allegations of a relationship between the student and teacher were in the process of being investigated when Megan went missing with the married 30-year-old.
He said: “Because the investigations are ongoing we are not going to comment in detail, however the school and the county council had been addressing and investigating concerns that had been raised, in line with procedure, when this happened.
“That investigation will continue and we’ll decide what action to take.”
Megan’s parents have made an emotional appeal for her to get in contact with them, after she caught a ferry to the continent five days ago with 30-year-old Forrest.
The pair travelled together on a ferry from Dover to Calais on Thursday evening and were due to come back to the UK on Sunday, but did not use the return tickets.
